Leica Look
by Photo Stuff · @photostuff
Watch the original videoPhoto Stuff's color recipe for the GR III and IIIx, built on Standard and named for the warm, slightly dark color he admires in Leica photographs. Key sits at -2, so frames come out a little underexposed. Saturation is up two steps, Clarity +2 adds midtone contrast, and Shading -1 gives a light vignette.

From the creator
He says it is his own take on the look of Leica photographs he admires, and he makes no claim to match Leica color. He uses spot or highlight-weighted metering to protect the highlights, then sets how dark the frame goes with exposure compensation. His newer Rich Tone Monochrome recipe for the GR IV Monochrome grew out of this one.

Camera compatibility
Originally created for the GR IIIx - popular on the GR IV too. Every value dials straight in; the presets and settings are identical across bodies. The GR IV's newer sensor renders a touch warmer and brighter, so treat this as a starting point, not a guaranteed match; if it looks too warm, a small white-balance nudge toward blue brings it closer.
