What memory card does the Ricoh GR IV use?
microSD only. The SanDisk Extreme Pro microSD is the exact model GR IV owners settled on after testing buffer speeds against the camera's internal storage. Heavy burst shooters often shoot to the internal memory and offload to the card afterwards.
Do fast SD cards cause problems in the Ricoh GR III?
That is old folklore. GR III and IIIx owners run SanDisk Extreme Pro cards with nothing to report, and firmware 1.42 also shipped an SD stability fix. A smaller camp deliberately buys the cheaper SanDisk Ultra and reports the same.
Can I use a microSD card with an adapter in the GR III?
It will physically work in a full-size SD slot, but it adds a connection that can fail, and the community's picks for the GR III are all native full-size cards. The reverse is not possible: a full-size SD card cannot go into the GR IV.
