Screw on standard 49mm filters. The III, IIIx and IV each take a different adapter (the IV's finally locks in place) - grab the one for your body.

The adapter route is for anyone who wants real screw-in filters - ND, black mist, CineBloom, polarizer - without committing to a full hood. Real talk on fit: the III and IIIx versions are friction-fit, and while the current revision fixed the early wobble, there are reports of them detaching (one straight onto concrete). If that story scares you, Ricoh's own GA-1/GA-2 adapters lock mechanically - and the GR IV's version (like NiSi's own GR IV part) finally locks too. The III, IIIx and IV each take a different part; they are not interchangeable.

ended up using a Nisi adaptor with a screw in filter... flexibility to change filtersu/Mysterious-Moose-154 on r/ricohGR
Do not buy the NiSi, buy the official Ricoh GA adapter instead. It has a true locking mechanism to prevent it from falling off... I returned the NiSi.u/amauros on r/ricohGR
